My city is dark.
It's lights meditate midnight.
It's serious hum
connects with deeper shadows
in deep alleyways
in the boughs of bleak boroughs
now hung with darkness
like a wreath of dead roses.

Night is still like that,
looking out over starlit
evening thoughts of
what was, what is, what could be
when nights turn days tomorrow.
