Kofi Annan
Lock Down Blues

His letter read: "You all must stay at home"
So I park myself upon my porcelain throne
Deep within my cosy bio-dome.

Black on white. The words are monochrome.
The sentiment is flat, a monotone:
His letter read: "You all must stay at home."

I barricade myself with honeycomb
And spread the sweetest honey on my scone
To enjoy within my cosy bio-dome.

They could get airborne at the local aerodrome
To scream their message via megaphone
But, his letter instead read: "You all must stay at home."

Packed in tight with broken Styrofoam
Locked down right and safely on my own
Secure within my cosy bio-dome.

Until the day we're safe to freely roam
I'll follow neatly all that I've been shown.
His letter read: "You all must stay at home"
So, I'll bunker down in my stocked-up bio-dome.
