Edvard Munch
Some far restless boatman, seated, glimpsed
A distant screaming passerby masked
With feeble cupped hands held aloft
To cheeks drawn in tight vivid anguish
And drooped sagging jaw gaping wildly.
His deep bulging eyes raptly belied
The sharp gasps for breath stolen within
To battle raw instinctive exit drive
On clumsy kicking waven footfalls
Pushed along in flowing noisome dregs
To stillness shocked as witnesses attested.
