John Stow
The Circle

III - John

From his hibernation state he awakes,
But his guilty dreams of drowning remain.
He can't progress beyond his old mistakes.
Bristling grizzly beard, his cheeks dry again,
He shambles to Pam's circle for penance.
Into his trance he falls, his guide beckons.
The pain is like a ripping claw: his sentence.
A boat in rough seas replayed in seconds.
Growling, he recoils from that life he stole.
He pushed her too far out and lost her soul.
