Sonnet XI 

So, how about a fitting lock-down sonnet? 
Invoke William Shakespeare and St. George? 
It must be clean, so put some covers on it. 
It must be steel from finest Sheffield forge. 
It must be grand in image and in wit. 
It must make humble medics chests inflate. 
It must have characters that really fit. 
It must give readers cause to contemplate. 
And if it does those things, it may succeed 
In being something like Thursday applause 
At windows for heroes, as we all heed 
Their pure clout, all hours open, because 
Willy and George would fight and write for you: 
Let's cheer our battle hardened front-line crew.
